Rules

Below are some of the rules that will apply to the competition. A complete set of rules will be sent to each competitor prior to the event. All competitors in the Natural Horse Challenge must abide by the following:

  1. Each horse must have an up-to-date negative coggins test, with proof presented at night of event.
  2. A horse can be entered more than once, shown by different handlers.
  3. Competitors may show a maximum of two horses.
  4. Each competitor will have one minute to complete each task. Tasks will be scored as "all-or-nothing". That is, there will be no partial points awarded.
  5. Judges ruling is final. In the event of a tie, a tiebreaker will be conducted, judges will select an obstacle and will announce the parameters to each contestant. For example, contestants may be instructed to back their horses into the trailer, and the lowest time wins.
  6. Excessive correction/intimidation of your horse may result in disqualification. We encourage the use of natural horsemanship techniques.
  7. Competitors must be 9 years old as of 1/1/08.
